Everyone jumped, Frank shooting up from his nap. “WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE” Buford the Table screamed from his apparent new location in the corner of the room. “This motherfucker booby trapped the door to Hephaestus Cabin,” she growled, tossing Leo into the empty seat next to Piper before moving behind Chiron and leaning against the wall, arms crossed. She was just about smoking from her ears, face set in a vicious scowl. He shot everyone a wicked grin, and Percy noticed that Clarisse was covered in grease too. The door to the big house opened and Clarisse La Rue stomped in, dragging Leo by the scruff of his grease-stained shirt like a cat. Only Annabeth and Jason looked anything close to aware, which Percy knew was because of Annie’s crazy anxiety and Jason’s predisposition to behave like an android. Piper was chugging coffee from a concerningly large travel cup, Hazel was manually holding her eyelids open with her fingers, and Frank had simply put his head down on the ping pong table and gone back to sleep. Chiron had called for them at seven in the fucking morning. He was slumped over onto Annabeth, still half asleep. Leo was late, as per usual, and Chiron wouldn’t start without him. He had barely managed to catch up on sleep in the last two weeks, for fucks sake, and now Chiron had called the Seven around the dreaded ping pong table, yet again, a serious look in his eyes.
